Notre Dame picked up its seventh straight victory with a convincing 71 to 58 win over Rutgers.  The Scarlet Knights were the last team to beat the Irish back on January 16^th.  Irish Center Jack Cooley scored a game high 22 points and pulled down a game high 18 rebounds as Notre Dame overcame a slow start in the first half to win the game.  The Irish has 16 assists on 20 scored baskets.

Notre Dame (18-8, 10-3) will be on the road Saturday to take on Villanova in Big East action.

Rutgers (12-14, 4-9) has now dropped four straight.  The Scarlet Knights were led in scoring by Dane Miller with 11 points.  Eli Carter had 10 points in the losing cause.

A win Saturday would tie a Notre Dame record for most consecutive wins at 8.  The record was set during the 2000-2001 season.
